KEVLAR

I wish I knew more about what the things around me are made of. Invented in the sixties, Kevlar is versatile enough to be used for bulletproof vests and racing sails - incredible that something can power boats and stop bullets in their tracks.

p.s. I saw the Prada boat racing around the Isle of Wight a few years ago and I was convinced, binoculars in hand, that all their sailors were male models (they weren't winning). If anybody can shed any light on this I am extremely curious.

Saturday

FRESH FRESH FRESH

There is something chronically boring about just posting campaign images but in my mind these shots are worthy of an exception. I can't see how anyone wouldn't feel even the teeniest bit uplifted by them - a cheery antidote to January blues.

Fresh flowers, fresh face... so gloriously colourful, it reminds me of Josie's postcard of the Garden Isle.

Wednesday

SHED

Have just moved into my parents shed for the summer and its just as well I'm fond of spiders. By shed I am not coyly talking about a summerhouse with brick walls and electricity but a literal shed with four walls that is arguably better suited to storing oars and spades than twenty one year olds. However, the walls are painted, the lilo is blown up and I'm almost excited.

HOMEMADE

ISLE OF WIGHT NIGHTLIFE

The place  reminds me of the resort in Dirty Dancing, it shuts at half ten despite the fact that it looks like it's never  been opened.
